Signalment: 7 years old, Male Castrated, Golden Retriever
Presenting Complaint: He presented to OVC with a two week history of inappetance which progressed to lethargy, dyspnea and wheezing one week later.
Presenting History

On presentation he was dull and approximately 7% dehydrated. He was tachypnic and auscultation of the thorax revealed increased bronchial sounds bilaterally over the entire lung field. No other abnormalities were found.

Thoracic radiographs were obtained by the referring veterinarian, and there was suspicion of fungal pneumonia. The dog was started on itraconazole three days prior to presentation at OVC. The day prior to presentation he began to deteriorate and show signs of dyspnea. At this point he was referred to OVC for supportive care and further workup.
