Presenting Complaint: Presented on emergency for a bout of collapse this am.
Presenting History

For the past several days he was more lethargic and somewhat inappetant. On presentation he was somnolent and dull.

  Radiographic Diagnosis
  Mineralization of the ascending and descending aorta. 
  Description
  There is no abnormality present with respect to the heart or lungs. The tracts of mineralization along the ascending and descending aorta are an incidental finding.

This finding has been reported previously as dystrophic calcification and noted in older dogs and perhaps more commonly in the Rottweiller breed (Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound, Vol. 43, 2002, pp 419-427).

  There is no evidence on this projection of an abnormality including the presence of the mineral tracts along the aorta. 
             

Clinical Diagnosis   Mineralization of the ascending and descending aorta.

The syncope was determined to be due to anemia with blood loss. A pancreatic tumor was the alleged diagnosis for the multiplicity of clinical signs. The aortic mineralization was an interesting but incidental finding.
